You know what, ever heard "In the belly of a whale"? I take it as a metaphor, how? Like you have a BIG problem you stuck in, like in Pinocchio, they are "In the belly of a whale", they are underwater, and trapped inside a sea mammal, that is a big problem, or in the Decemberists' Mariner's Revenge song, it is literal, but it is also metaphorical, in his case, he is trapped in the belly of a whale, but he also is homeless, and an orphan. He had a sweet mother, I would've stayed with her if I were him, especially, "Find him, bind him, break his fingers, to splinters, then drag him to a hole, until he wakes up, naked, clawing at the ceiling at his grave..." I would love a girl who could be like that, so evil, but so nice.
